Mixing Liquids

Care should always be taken when mixing liquids, and if possible the media should be mixed before degassing and dispensing. Using different types of media will cause problems with volume measurement. For example, if a solution is made of 900ml of water and ethanol by mixing 630ml H20 with 270ml EtOH then the total volume made will only equal 875ml. Mixing acids and surfactants can cause similar problems.
